Brothers and Sisters in the Family of Faith,

The Thanksgiving season has always been one of my favorite times of the year. I can’t say that my heart is fully engaged and celebrating every American holiday, but as a believer in Christ, I find myself always delighting in hearing God’s people thank him for all of his many blessings both spiritual and material.

Paul reminds us by saying, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Because we have a loving Father, who is fully in control of all the ups and downs of life, we can fully obey this simple text. Whether our road has been bumpy this year or smooth, the Lord calls us to trust him enough by thanking him in all circumstances.

We give thanks to God for his blessing and growth in the church. I’m working hard visiting new people with hope they will join as members. I give thanks to God for Sharon Jennings, David Dyson, and Tammy Jennings and their willingness to join and become new members of Eaton United Methodist Church. I am so excited and looking forward for fruitful ministry.

Also, a big thanks to the staff and volunteers for their hard work, and to all who gave of their resources, time, energy and money so faithfully this year to make our church function so well. We all know times are tough, and things may not improve next year, but God has provided for all our needs. We thank you for all the projects that you have completed at our church. Your give and trust have made accomplishments so far.

We are trusting God for all we do in his church and for his people. We pray for a blessed joyful season for all of us, with special joy in celebrating God’s coming into this broken world in the baby of Bethlehem. May God keeps you safe. And spend time with God to reflect and prepare your heart and mind for the Advent Season.

Blessings!
